As in the previous seven years, the eighth season of the professional LoL scene concludes with the biggest and most significant tournament of the year - WORLDS. The winner will etch their name into the annals of League of Legends history, where it will remain forever, alongside the names of other greats who have previously lifted "The Summoner's Cup."

Six months had passed since the last clash of the strongest teams at WORLDS last November when Invictus Gaming won “The Summoner’s Cup.” Since the beginning of the spring split, there has been a heated debate about which team is currently the strongest. Various statistics were compared, but no one could definitively say: "This team is the best of all." For that, we need an international tournament, and one is starting in exactly five days - Mid Season Invitational, or simply: MSI.

At the end of the first day of the MSI 2019, North American Team Liquid and Chinese Invictus Gaming are tied for first place, with a score of 2-0. Team Liquid defeated the hosts Phong Vũ Buffalo and Flash Wolves, while Invictus Gaming bested European champion G2 Esports and Phong Vũ Buffalo. G2 Esports and SK Telecom T1 are tied for third place, with a score of 1-1.

Only a couple of days are left until the start of the new LCS season and the clash of the most famous teams in the esports world, such as Cloud9, Team Liquid, TSM, and others. A lot has happened since the end of Worlds and we will see what impact these changes will have during the spring race for the title, which begins on January 25 and ends on March 22.
